Access and upkeep

Agent lifecycle

Reverting a draft, resetting build settings, archiving an agent, restoring it, and deleting it for good.

The agent's Maintenance section holds the actions that undo work or retire an agent.

  • Recoverable actions on the draft: revert to the live version, or reset build settings. Both are ordinary edits, so an edit-level collaborator can run them.
  • Danger zone: archive the agent, or delete it for good. These are workspace member actions: a collaborator cannot run them, even with edit access.

Reverting a draft

Revert draft to live version copies the published version back over the draft, discarding every change since the last publish. It replaces the draft's prompt, tools, voice, model and speech settings.

Only available when there is a draft to revert. The live version is untouched throughout and you can edit the draft again afterwards, but the discarded draft is gone.

Resetting build settings

Reset build settings to defaults returns the draft's model, voice, speech recognition and ambience settings to the platform defaults. Prompt, tools, variables, knowledge base, recognition hints and privacy settings are untouched.

Only applies to a draft. Create one first if the latest version is published.

Resetting clears the selected voice. Pick one again before you publish: the publish gate requires it.

Archiving an agent

Archiving is a reversible soft delete. Confirm by typing the agent's slug.

Agent slug support-line
Type to confirm support-line

What archiving does:

  • Removes the agent from the workspace agents list.
  • Unassigns any phone number pointed at the agent.
  • Takes its share link page offline, without clearing the link itself.
  • Leaves calls already in progress alone.
  • Leaves the agent reachable at its own address, so a bookmark still opens it.

The line does not go quiet at once

Archiving unassigns the agent's phone number. The agent stops taking new calls shortly afterwards, not the moment you confirm. Place a test call if you need to confirm the line is quiet.

The number stays in the workspace

Archiving does not release the number. It appears unassigned in Phone numbers, where you can point it at another agent or remove it from the workspace.

If number unassignment fails

The agent is still archived and the number stays routed to it. The confirmation message names the number or tells you to check Phone numbers settings. Either way, unassign it manually.

Restoring an agent

Restoring clears the archive and the agent reappears in the workspace list. Nothing is lost while archived: versions, tools, variables, transcripts and analytics are all still there.

The one thing restoring does not put back is the phone number. Assign one again from Phone numbers.

Restore from the workspace agents list: open the Trash tray, find the agent and choose Restore. The in-app assistant and the MCP server can do it too.

Permanent deletion

Permanent deletion removes the agent and cascades to every version, tool, variable and evaluation. There is no recovery and no waiting period.

The agent must be archived first. The UI archives and deletes in one confirmed action. A direct API call against a live agent is refused until it has been archived.

Archive instead unless it has to be erased

Archiving costs nothing and is reversible, so prefer it unless the agent genuinely has to be erased.
